I have always had small bumps mainly on the underside of my penile shaft towards the base. Never thought much of them at all. Recently however, I noticed one on the top of my penile shaft and it appeared different. Red around the outside with a small white spot in the middle. It has no pain what-so-ever, doesn't itch, doesn't get irritated. It doesn't pop either, I have tried. Even though I should probably leave it alone.

I attached a picture of the spot and I should note there are 2 more smaller ones (this one probably appears more inflammed due to me messing with it) on the back of my penis about mid-way down the shaft.

I have scheduled a doctor's appt, just to be sure. However I was hoping perhaps someone here could shed some light onto things and perhaps elevate some of the stress I have regarding it.

So...like most I had these small bumps all on my penis shaft since puberty. I went years worried and freaking out about this stuff.

I eventually went to a free clinic to get an STD test. I came back clean but I wasnt very satisfied with the detail used on the visual examination so it didnt completely ease me.

I ended up going to a urologist who sat there and did a detail visual examination and said they were just natural bumps and were nothinig STD related and that I should no longer worry we all will find bumps on us if we are staring at it all the time. After this I was a great ease.

Over the year one of the spots got larger than the others or irritated. It was noticable to me while the rest of my spots are not very visual these days. I went to a general physician for a regular physical and decided to have him look at it. He said "He thought it was a wart"....and before I could get a chance go digest what he was saying he began lasoring it off. I was in shock and didnt understand...he didnt ask my history or anything questions.

Well eventually I went to a dermatoglist to get a another opinion...I told him i believe i had fordyce. He said they arent fordyce but just clogged pores. The big one that i was worried about he poked at with a needle and used the blackhead remover type tool and pulled out a black spec. And sent me on my way and said..unless Im a pornstar I should be good to go.

Moral of the story....stop letting this kill you....I am exteremly satisfied now....the visibilty of my bumps are decrease with the years...and my girlfriend of 4 years doesnt even notice em and wasnt aware until I told her. None of my partners have every noticed it either in the past and if they did they never spoke on it. Hope this helps anyone.

Hey guys, this is my 1st time here. 22 y/o.

I have developed what looks to be fordyce spots for as long as I can remember. In my life, I have had 3 sexual partners. Out of the 3, one lost their virginity with another virgin, the 2nd I used a condom and my current girlfriend is clean, though we sometimes don't use condoms. There is always the possibility that one has lied...but, I digress.

I have also recently begun shaving/trimming my genital area and within the past 2-3 weeks I have noticed these brown spots on my penile shaft. They are smooth, just slightly more raised and seem to be slightly more prominent on the shaft. Aside from the few stray ones towards the top, most seem to be around the base. They are brownish in color, to me...though perhaps a dark purple?

It seems that most of you here have seen so many different types of FS, so maybe you can offer me a little insight? Perhaps it is, in fact, HPV? In-grown hairs from shaving?

Thank you all for your insight! It is greatly appreciated.

Here are some pictures:

I tried to get these diagnosed at a Planned Parenthood over the weekend. I mentioned "Fordyce spots" and the practitioner was uncomfortable (she wasn't familiar with what it was). She suggested if it's something dermatological I get a referral. I was pretty bummed.

I'm fairly confident I remember having these when I was with my past girlfriend (she even mentioned it once). Her PAP smears came up negative for HPV. Although, it seems that I have more than I remembered. I am slightly concerned because I did have sex with a girl rather recently that while reporting she was clean, her ex boyfriend had cheated on her multiple times. I'd like to rule out HPV if possible.

What's the general consensus/suggestion?

Hi all,

I'm 27, I live in the UK, I'm a virgin.

I've always had bad skin - I had acne as a teenager, and now I still have many hundreds of blackheads on my chest/nose/cheeks as well as 'adult acne' on my back and ass, which despite various treatments (roacutane, oxytetracyclene etc), has never, ever reduced/gotten better. etc.

But, I also have several "problems" with my penis that really, really get to me.
As well as frenulum breve and PPP, I have quite severe (well, I think it is) Sebaceous Prominence- on the base of my penis, right up the shaft and completely covering my testicles.

I went to the GP about it when I was 17(ish) and he told me the usual: it's not dangerous, contagious, harmful in any way and is a 'normal' aesthetic variant.
He also told me that it is NOTHING to do with: diet, masturbatory practice, underwear tightness, anxiety, acne, exercise or anything like that. Some people have it, others(/most) don't - and it's untreatable.

I can't under-state the extent to which SP really gets me down - and I'm now pretty much committed to a single life, and starting to devote all of my energies into other, solo things: Art, literature, music, learning etc. My only, very minor sexual encounter was a couple of years ago, and it... well.. it didn't happen, the girl in question saw my penis, and although she was polite and said she did believe me when I said it wasn't anything contageous or dangerous - she said she had her own sexual health to think of, and she didn't want to 'risk it'. I could tell from her face that she was pretty grossed out as well. - This was probably lucky as well, as sex is likely to snap my frenulum, and I need to have a frenuloplasty before I engage in penetrative sex... apparently.

So, as it seems to be the thing to do, here are some pics of my penis - I know they're not great, it's surprisingly difficult to take clear, crisp shots of something like this - using a flash just gave a white blue instead of a picture.
How bad do you think mine is? I've always thought it was pretty pervasive, and a lot of people I've spoken to online only describe having it at the base of their penis and, at most, mildly up their shaft.

Anyway, I'd love some 'feedback' from you guys and, like everybody here, I'd just like you to know that you're not alone in dealing with this problem, which is simultaneously a very small *and* a very massive deal. If you want to rate my SP out of 10, then go ahead... it looks much more severe when I'm erect, but I'm not willing (yet) to take photos of that:

(I hope these work...)

First of all, my native language is not english so forry for any mistakes. Found this forum surfing the web and i think my story could help you:

I am a 24 years old male, have had FS since i was 14, at the age of 15 i went to the doctor and he told me they were FS and i shouldnt worry about them.
1- I have FS in about 50% of my penis
2- I have a dark skin, that makes them a lot more noticeable

Looking for a cure? there is no cure and there wont be any cure, because there is NO NEED FOR ONE.

I have had 5 sexual partners in this last year, 3 of them didnt even notice them (or didnt care), the 4th noticed and asked, i told her the truth.. and we keep going, and the 5th is my current GF in a serious relationship so no worries.

If you are going down with a girl and you start getting worried or nervious about your FS and them noticing or getting scared, they will.. just forget they are there, if you had the moves to reach this point, and you can get the girl very aroused, she wont even notice or wont care about them. If she notices them, tell her the truth will FULL confidence and keep going.

It is simple: If you treat them like an STD, girls will think it is an STD...
Stop harming your "tool" with medications, toothpaste, acids, etc; you cant really harm yourself and it will be a lot worst.

Hope it helps some of you, just felt i had to share.

I have fordyce like spots on my upper lip, around my nipples, and towards the base of the shaft, and around my scrotum. They don't change, spread, or go away. I have had the FS on my nipples and penis for a long time, since puberty at least, I never thought anything of them since I had them before I was sexually active. A few months ago I noticed them for the first time on the inner line of my upper lip. I'm 22. FREAKED OUT. Thought I had a STD, told the few people I had been with, they both tested negative, including me. I went to 4 doctors, and $200 later I still had no answers. The dermatologist told me about the fordyce on my lip (didn't want to show my penis).

My question is:

Are fordyce spots related to HPV in any way?

Maybe I'm googling too much. I have read at a few sites that they are caused by a form of HPV. I have been tested, but I am at the point where I believe the tests are all wrong, and I'm afraid to have sex ever again, even though no one ever said anything before about my nipples and penis. But my lips have gotten me all shaken up, and now every bump, any sensation I have is a STD.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I hope I posted in the correct Forum.

Hey guys,

So I'm in my mid 20's and have had fordyce for years now, prob since I hit puberty. They've always been around my sack and shaft, but recently some have been popping up towards the foreskin area and higher on the shaft. I first noticed about six small but a lil larger than the rest of them crop up right around the foreskin, which are the biggest. Then some smaller but kinda whiteish pimply ones pop up on the stomach side of my shaft. Their kinda spread out, none are that large except the row of six. I know it's not the herp as I've had em for about a month now and their not growing, itchy, or damp. Their actually pretty dry and can flake off a lil bit but only if I scratch at em. I can also pop them like zits if I really try, which sounds like fordyce. It seems like a couple more pop up here and their, but never get real bad, just annoying and dnt want a whole s**t load to come up. I have been with a handful of women, however almost always used protection or knew the girl was clean. I have been in a monogamous relationship for about a year and half now, and have not had any other symptoms of an STD before. I also had a blood test done about 6 months ago that turned out perfectly normal, not sure if that makes a big difference. Anyway any opinions would be greatly appreciated as I'm pretty worried and don't want to go to the doc unless I absolutely should. I attached pix, please tell me if their fordyce or not!!!

Hello.

I have recently notices my husband has Flesh colored bumps on the shaft of his penis. They dont seem to bother him at all. He is worried that it maybe serious. The thing is, he was Abstinent for 7 yrs before i got with him 2 yrs ago. They just recently showed up. There is no chance of him cheating, because im with him almost 24/7. He does have jock itch and sweats a lot. There is one bump on his sack that is hard and reddish. Should we be worried? We did have unprotected sex a few nights ago.
Any suggestions would be wonderful.
